Transplant seedlings outdoors from late September or October through February, after severe summer temperatures have declined.<\/li>\n<li>Provide approximately 6 hours of direct sunlight during winter. Morning sun with afternoon protection is preferable as temperatures rise in spring, particularly for plants grown in hanging baskets.<\/li>\n<li>Plant with the crown level with the surface of the growing medium. Do not bury the crown, as this increases the risk of rot.
