Growing Your Balm Green Lemon

Sow your Balm Green Lemon seeds directly outdoors in spring after the last frost or start them indoors 6-8 weeks earlier. Choose a location that receives full sun to partial shade and has well-drained soil.

For direct sowing, scatter the seeds lightly over the soil surface and gently press them in; they need light to germinate. For indoor starting, sow seeds shallowly in a seed-starting mix. Maintain a soil temperature of 18-24°C (65-75°F) and keep the soil consistently moist.

Once seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant them outdoors, spacing them about 18-24 inches apart. Lemon Balm is a vigorous grower and will readily establish itself, providing you with fragrant foliage and delicious tea for years to come.

Harvest leaves as needed throughout the growing season, with the flavor being most intense before the plant flowers.
