Dahlia ‘Madame Antoinette’ is a distinctive modern Decorative Dahlia prized for its unusual two-tone flowers.
The upper surface of the petals appears creamy to brilliant yellow with delicate purplish-pink veining and shading, while the reverse develops much richer rose-red to purplish red coloring. As the petals curve and overlap, the darker reverses appear between the yellow layers, creating a striking dimensional effect.

The International Dahlia Register records flowers up to approximately 12 cm across and stems around 90 cm, while commercial growers list plants reaching approximately 120 cm tall with flowers around 11 cm.

Growing in Kuwait

• For Kuwait conditions, Dahlia ‘Madame Antoinette’ is best grown during the cooler growing season once extreme summer temperatures have declined.
• A practical planting period is: October to November
• Plant tubers approximately 10–15 cm deep, positioning the crown and growing eyes upward.
• Avoid excessive watering immediately after planting. Once shoots emerge and active roots develop, gradually increase watering while maintaining excellent drainage.
• Provide good sunlight during the cooler months, with some protection from intense afternoon heat as temperatures rise toward the end of the season.
• Because plants may reach approximately 120 cm tall, staking or plant support is recommended.
