Dahlia purple Fox

Dahlia ‘Purple Fox’ – Fuchsia-Magenta Ball Dahlia Tuber

Dahlia ‘Purple Fox’ is a striking Ball Dahlia producing beautifully formed, fully double blooms with tightly arranged petals and an elegant, rounded shape.
Despite its name, the flowers are better described as rich fuchsia-magenta with lilac-purple undertones rather than true dark purple. Specialist growers describe the color as lilac-magenta purple, while Fluwel notes that fuchsia is a particularly accurate description.
The flowers measure approximately 8–10 cm across and are carried on strong stems, making Purple Fox an excellent cut-flower variety. It is also notably free-flowering, producing an abundance of blooms throughout its growing season.

Growing in Kuwait

For Kuwait conditions, Dahlia ‘Purple Fox’ is best grown during the cooler growing season once extreme summer temperatures have declined.
A practical planting period is: October to November
Plant the tubers approximately 5–10 cm deep, positioning the crown and growing eyes upward.
Avoid excessive watering immediately after planting. Once shoots emerge and active roots develop, gradually increase watering while maintaining excellent drainage.
Provide strong sunlight during the cooler months, with protection from extreme afternoon heat as temperatures rise later in the season.
