Dahlia ‘Café au Lait Twist’ – Raspberry & Cream Dinnerplate Dahlia Tuber

Dahlia ‘Café au Lait Twist’ is a spectacular Decorative Dinnerplate Dahlia producing enormous, fully double blooms reaching approximately 25 cm across.
Its creamy-white to soft latte-colored petals are beautifully marked with irregular raspberry-pink streaks, splashes and brushstroke-like markings, creating a unique variegated appearance.
One of the most distinctive characteristics of Café au Lait Twist is its natural color variation. No two blooms are exactly alike: some flowers may display bold raspberry streaks, while others remain predominantly creamy with softer pink markings.
Combining the luxurious size and form of the famous Café au Lait family with dramatic painterly color variation, this variety is exceptional for cutting gardens, wedding flowers and premium floral arrangements.

Growing in Kuwait

  • For Kuwait conditions, Dahlia ‘Café au Lait Twist’ is best grown during the cooler growing season after extreme summer temperatures have declined.
  • A practical planting period is: October to November
  • Plant the tubers approximately 10–15 cm deep, positioning the crown and growing eyes upward.
  • Avoid excessive watering immediately after planting. Once shoots emerge and active roots develop, gradually increase watering while maintaining excellent drainage.
  • Provide strong sunlight during the cooler months, with some protection from intense afternoon heat as temperatures rise toward the end of the season.
  • Because plants can reach 100–120 cm tall and produce exceptionally large flowers, staking or plant support is strongly recommended.
