Growing in Kuwait

  • For Kuwait conditions, Dahlia ‘Dr. P.H. Riedell’ is best grown during the cooler growing season after extreme summer temperatures have declined.
  • A practical planting period is: October to November
  • Plant tubers approximately 10 cm deep, positioning the crown and growing eyes upward.
  • Avoid excessive watering immediately after planting. Once shoots emerge and active roots develop, gradually increase watering while maintaining excellent drainage.
  • Provide strong sunlight during the cooler months, with some protection from intense afternoon heat as temperatures rise toward the end of the season.
  • Because mature plants can reach around 100–120 cm tall, staking or plant support is recommended
