Unique and Early Melon Lambkins F1
Prepare for a distinctive melon experience with Melon Lambkins F1, an unmistakable F1 hybrid variety. Its eye-catching mottled skin, featuring a blend of yellow and green hues, gives way to a refreshing crystalline green flesh.
Ripening earlier than many other melons (in just 65-75 days from transplant), Lambkin’s healthy and vigorous plants produce a generous yield of 4 to 5 perfectly sized melons, each weighing between 2 and 4 pounds.
Maximum Sweetness with Minimal Waste
Lambkins F1 is designed for exceptional eating quality. Its thin rind means more delicious melon in every bite, and the minimal seed cavity further maximizes the amount of sweet, juicy, and lusciously flavored flesh you can enjoy.
Optimal Growing for Early and Abundant Harvests
For best results with your Melon Lambkins F1 seeds, ensure fertile, well-drained soil with a pH of 6.0-7.0. Start seeds indoors in 4-inch pots, 3-4 weeks before your anticipated transplant date, maintaining a soil temperature of 70-85°F for germination (which typically occurs in 3-10 days). Grow seedlings under dry, warm conditions and fertilize with a balanced liquid fertilizer.
Transplant carefully to avoid disturbing roots when the soil temperature reaches at least 60°F, spacing plants 3-4 feet apart in rows 5-6 feet apart. Provide high fertilizer needs with ½ cup of complete fertilizer and compost per plant. Remove row covers before flowering for pollination.
Harvest when the leaf where the fruit is attached begins to yellow. Store ripe melons at 40°F and 95% relative humidity for optimal freshness.
