Growing Great White Tomato in Kuwait

  • Recommended planting period: October to January. October–December is preferable for establishing strong plants before temperatures rise.
  • Sunlight: Provide at least 6–8 hours of direct sunlight during Kuwait’s cooler months.
  • Spacing: Allow approximately 60–75 cm between plants to improve airflow.
  • Container size: Use a container of at least 40–50 liters per plant; 60 liters or larger is preferable.
  • Support: Install a strong cage or trellis early because the vines are vigorous and the fruits are heavy.
  • Soil: Grow in fertile, well-drained soil enriched with mature compost.
  • Watering: Maintain even soil moisture. Sudden changes between dry and wet conditions may cause large fruits to crack.
  • Feeding: Use balanced nutrition during establishment, followed by a tomato fertilizer once flowering and fruit development begin.
  • Fruit support: Support heavily loaded branches when necessary to prevent breakage.
  • Summer conditions: Great White is not proven to tolerate Kuwait’s extreme summer heat. It should be marketed as a cool-season tomato for local cultivation.
