• Candy Showers™ Deep Purple is a distinctive trailing snapdragon that produces cascades of rich purple flowers above fresh green foliage. Unlike traditional upright snapdragons, this variety develops flexible, spreading stems that flow beautifully over the edges of containers and hanging baskets.
• It flowers readily during the short days and mild temperatures of the cool season, making it particularly suitable for Kuwait’s winter garden. The Candy Showers series was introduced as the first trailing snapdragon series from seed and is intended for autumn and spring containers, baskets and mixed planters.

Growing in Kuwait

• – Transplant outdoors from October through February.
• – Provide full sun during the cooler months for the fullest flowering.
• – During warmer periods, morning sun with light afternoon shade is preferable.
• – Plant in fertile, moist but well-drained soil.
• – Water when the upper layer of soil begins to dry.
• – Avoid permanently wet soil, as snapdragon roots are vulnerable to rot.
• – Feed every two to three weeks with a diluted flowering-plant fertilizer.
• – Remove faded flower spikes regularly to encourage continued flowering.
• – Protect the plant from strong drying winds and sudden periods of extreme heat.
  Container and Hanging-Basket Growing
• Candy Showers Deep Purple is especially suitable for containers because of its low, cascading growth.
• – One established plant can fill a pot approximately 15–20 cm wide.
• – Use three plants for a full display in a hanging basket approximately 25–30 cm wide.
• – Position it close to the edge of a mixed planter so the flowering stems can trail naturally.
• – Excellent companion plants include pansies, violas, ornamental kale and other cool-season annuals.
• The official series bench card lists a height of approximately 15 cm and a spread of 41–51 cm.
