  • Strawberry ‘Loran’ F1 is an early-flowering, compact everbearing strawberry that produces large, beautifully shaped conical fruit on a relatively small plant.
  • Its tidy habit and limited runner production make it particularly suitable for containers, balcony planters and compact edible gardens. Unlike vigorous hanging-basket strawberries, ‘Loran’ concentrates its growth around the central crown and requires less space to produce an attractive fruiting plant.
  • The deep-red strawberries offer a pleasant fresh-sweet flavor and can be harvested repeatedly under favorable growing conditions. Its combination of early flowering, compact growth and large fruit makes ‘Loran’ a practical choice for gardeners with limited space.

Growing Strawberry ‘Loran’ F1 in Kuwait

  • Grow ‘Loran’ during Kuwait’s cooler agricultural season. Transplant seedlings outdoors from late September or October through February, once severe summer temperatures have declined.
  • Provide approximately 6 hours of direct sunlight during winter. As temperatures increase in spring, morning sun with protection from intense afternoon heat will help preserve flowers and developing fruit.
  • Plant in fertile, freely draining growing media with the crown level with the soil surface. Do not cover the crown, as this can encourage rot. Maintain consistent moisture during flowering and fruit development without allowing the soil to remain saturated.
  • For one plant, use a final container at least 20–25 cm wide, preferably providing around 4–6 litres of growing medium. Although commercial growers can finish young ‘Loran’ plants in small nursery pots, those pots are not large enough for optimum long-term fruit production.
  • Apply a balanced fertilizer during establishment. Once flower buds appear, feed with a complete fertilizer suitable for flowering and fruiting crops. Avoid excessive nitrogen, which can promote foliage at the expense of fruit production.
  • Limited runner production helps the plant direct more energy toward its main crown and fruit. Remove unnecessary runners if maximum harvesting is the priority.
