  • The indeterminate vines continue growing and producing throughout the suitable season. Plants require a tall, sturdy trellis and regular training to manage their vigorous growth and fruit-heavy trusses.

Growing in Kuwait

  • Transplant outdoors from October through January.
  • Provide at least 6–8 hours of direct sunlight.
  • Plant in fertile, well-draining soil enriched with mature compost.
  • Use a container of at least 30 litres; 40 litres or larger is preferable for extended production.
  • Install a trellis or tall cage at transplanting.
  • Maintain consistent soil moisture to reduce fruit splitting.
  • Train the plant to one or two main stems and remove unwanted side shoots regularly.
  • Avoid removing excessive foliage, particularly as temperatures rise, because exposed fruits can develop sunscald.
  • Harvest ripe fruits regularly to maintain quality and encourage continued production.
  • Fruit set and quality will decline when Kuwait’s temperatures become excessively hot.
