Unleash Vibrant Energy with Anemone Levante Fuchsia Bulbs

Anemone Levante® Fucsia belongs to the prestigious Italian Levante® breeding program developed, internationally recognized for producing elite anemone cultivars for professional floriculture.

The Levante® series represents one of the most important recent advances in commercial anemone breeding, introducing fully double flowers with exceptional ornamental quality, vigorous growth, early flowering, and outstanding cut flower performance.

Levante® Fucsia is distinguished by its vibrant fuchsia-pink blooms composed of numerous silky petals arranged in a luxurious fully double flower form. The dense flower structure, brilliant color, and long florist-grade stems make this cultivar highly desirable for premium floral arrangements, wedding bouquets, collector gardens, and professional cut flower production.

Combining excellent productivity, uniform growth, strong stems, and remarkable post-harvest performance, Levante® Fucsia offers exceptional value for both commercial growers and home gardeners seeking an elegant cool-season flowering plant.

Germination Instructions

  • Before planting, soak your Levante® Fuchsia anemone corms in room-temperature water for 3–4 hours — shorter than the 6–12 hours required for Mistral series corms.
  • Let a little water trickle into the soaking bowl to increase the oxygen in the water.
  • After soaking, the corms can either be planted directly into the ground or pre-sprouted inside.
  • For pre-sprouting, place the corms in flats with drainage holes, cover the corms lightly in moist soil, store at 7°C (45°F), and check on them daily.
  • Plant corms with the pointed side down in well-draining soil, 5–7 cm deep, spacing 10–15 cm apart.
  • If the pointed side cannot be identified, plant on the side — the growing point will orient itself naturally.
  • Keep soil temperature below 15°C during the root growth phase for optimal development — anemones thrive with a cool start to promote strong root development and optimal flowering.
  • For floral arrangements, cut stems for bouquet making when the buds are just starting to show color for the longest vase life.
  • Cut the stems on the diagonal for best hydration — Levante® anemones are heavy drinkers, and vase life increases with fresh water daily and keeping flowers away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
  • In Kuwait, plant corms directly outdoors in mid-September to October once temperatures begin to moderate from summer heat.

Growing Tips

  • Levante® Fuchsia grows well in the garden, in pots, or in a cool greenhouse.
  • Not fully winter hardy but tolerates light frost down to -5°C.
  • Corms can be stored after flowering and replanted for multiple seasons.
  • Water regularly but avoid waterlogging — corms are susceptible to rot when dormant in wet soil and should be lifted if the planting area will be watered during dormancy.
  • For cut flowers, cut stems on the diagonal for best hydration and provide fresh water daily — Levante® anemones are heavy drinkers.
  • Keep away from direct sunlight and heat sources after cutting to maximize vase life of 10+ days.
  • The fully double form of Levante® Fuchsia — the characteristic that distinguishes the entire Levante® series — presents the high-energy fuchsia color with a visual mass and textural complexity that no previous single-form fuchsia anemone could deliver.
  • The black center, though partially concealed by the outer doubled petal layers in the fully open bloom, remains visible as a deep focal point at the flower’s heart, adding the characteristic depth and drama of the anemone center to the fully doubled exterior.
  • In Kuwait’s cool winter light, the vibrant hot pink-magenta of Levante® Fuchsia reads with maximum saturation and energy — the lower sun angle and diffused light of December through February providing ideal conditions for the fuchsia tone to register at its most vivid.

Gulf Planting Season

  • Plant corms outdoors: Mid-September to October, once temperatures begin to moderate
Soil temperature during root growth: Keep below 15°C — cool start is essential
Days to flowering: Approximately 90 days from planting
Flowering: December through March for mid-September-planted corms
Flowering continues: Until temperatures routinely exceed 21°C
Lift and store corms: After foliage dies back naturally — corms do not like to be wet when dormant
Note: Levante® Fuchsia shares the same planting schedule and cultural requirements as Levante® Blu — both are part of the same 2023-released series from with identical growing characteristics across all four base colors.
  • In Kuwait’s cool-season cutting garden, mid-September to October planting produces first blooms from December onward, with flowering continuing through March as long as temperatures remain below 21°C.
  • The vibrant hot pink-magenta of Levante® Fuchsia is the highest-energy color in the four-color Levante® range — positioned between the visual boldness of red and the romantic softness of white, occupying the warm-bright register that is most immediately attention-commanding in the cool-season garden.
  • For gardeners and florists who wish to plant the complete Levante® range — Blu, Fuchsia, and the remaining base colors — all four can be planted simultaneously in October from a single sowing operation, producing a coordinated cool-season display of fully doubled anemones in blue, hot pink, red, and white from December through March, with no additional planning or scheduling required beyond the single October planting date.

Companion Planting

  • Levante® Fuchsia is primarily grown for its outstanding ornamental and cut flower value.
  • In the cool-season garden, the vibrant hot pink-magenta fully double blooms of Levante® Fuchsia create their most dramatic visual impact when positioned alongside companions that either contrast or harmonise with its energetic warm-cool fuchsia character. Pure white companions — white lisianthus, white snapdragons, or white Levante® Bianco from the same series — provide the classic high-contrast combination that allows the fuchsia to read at its most saturated and vivid.
  • Pale lavender sweet peas provide a cool-toned complementary contrast that softens the energy of the fuchsia while sharing the cool season window and adding fragrance alongside the visually striking but unscented Levante® bloom.
  • Silver-leaved dusty miller provides a neutral metallic backdrop that intensifies the fuchsia saturation without adding colour competition.
  • Deep purple companions such as Anemone Mistral Plus® Grape or Elegance® Viola ranunculus echo the blue component within fuchsia’s red-blue composite tone, creating a rich jewel-toned cool-season composition of considerable sophistication.
  • In the cutting garden, Levante® Fuchsia combines most memorably with Elegance® Rosa ranunculus — the two warm-pink varieties from the same breeding house family presenting complementary warm-pink tones in contrasting flower forms, the open-faced fully doubled anemone providing visual energy alongside the dense rose-like ranunculus.

Garden & Floristry Uses

  • Anemone Levante® Fucsia is an outstanding cultivar for premium cut flower production, luxury floral arrangements, wedding bouquets, collector gardens, patio containers, ornamental borders, and elegant landscape planting.
  • Its brilliant fuchsia fully double flowers provide exceptional color intensity and luxurious texture, making every stem a striking focal point in premium floral designs.
