Caladium White Christmas – Angel Wings: A Tuber for Snow-White Foliage

Create a bright, elegant focal point in your garden with the Caladium White Christmas – Angel Wings tuber. This plant forms a bushy clump, growing to 50–60 cm tall and wide. Its stunning, large, heart-shaped leaves are a pristine, luminous snow-white with deep green veins and often have a delicate green edge. The foliage is thin and translucent, allowing light to shine through and creating a beautiful, ethereal glow. For the best variegation and to prevent the leaves from turning too green, provide gentle, filtered light. Growing Calendar

• Plant tubers: When the soil is warm, from mid-September to mid-October. For an early start, pre-sprout indoors in late August.
• Season: September–May in bright shade or dappled sun. Protect from harsh midday heat and from nights below 15°C by moving pots to a warmer, sheltered spot.
• Dormancy & storage: In May, reduce watering and allow the foliage to die back. Lift and store the tubers dry in slightly moist peat/vermiculite at about 16–18°C. Restart them in late August for September planting.

Planting & Care

• Light: Part shade or bright shade; avoid harsh direct sun, which can scorch the leaves. 2–4 hours of soft, filtered light keeps the white patterning strong.
• Soil: Rich, moist but well-drained; a slightly acidic soil is ideal.
• Depth & spacing: Plant tubers 5 cm deep and 20–30 cm apart, with the eyes facing up.
• Water: Keep the soil evenly moist but never waterlogged. For indoor plants, water when the surface just begins to dry.
