Growing in Kuwait

  • For Kuwait conditions, Dahlia ‘Nikolas Tesla’ is best grown during the cooler growing season once extreme summer temperatures have declined.
A practical planting period is: October to November
Plant the tuber with the crown and growing eyes facing upward in fertile, well-drained soil, with approximately 5–10 cm of soil above the crown/tuber area.
Avoid excessive watering before active growth begins. Once shoots and roots develop, gradually increase watering while maintaining excellent drainage.
Provide good sunlight during the cooler months, with some protection from intense afternoon heat as temperatures rise toward the end of the season.
Because plants grow around 100–120 cm tall and carry giant 20–25 cm blooms, strong staking is recommended.
