Transplant (recommended): Sow 10-16 weeks before planting out. Cover seed lightly. Maintain a temperature of 65-70°F (18-21°C) for germination in 10-20 days. Transplant into larger cell packs or 3–4-inch containers 6-8 weeks after germination.
Grow seedlings at a cool 50-55°F (10-13°C) in a greenhouse or cold frame. Harden off and transplant outdoors, spacing 12-18 inches apart for perennial growth or 12 inches apart for annual growth. Strong support is strongly advised.
Direct Seeding: Not recommended.
Light Preference: Sun to part shade.
Soil Requirements: Well-drained, fertile, slightly alkaline soil with plenty of organic matter. Fertilize lightly but frequently with a balanced fertilizer.
Harvesting: Cut when 1/4 to 1/3 of the flowers on the stem are open and place immediately in water. Plants may rebloom in late summer/early fall if cut back immediately after the first bloom.
