Discover the delightful Marrow Bush Baby F1, a specially developed F1 hybrid baby marrow variety prized for its very good flavor. With a compact bush-type habit, these plants are perfect for growing in large pots, growing bags, or directly in the garden bed.
Bush Baby F1 produces fruits that mature to approximately three-quarters the size of standard marrow varieties, typically reaching 15 to 20cm (6-8 inches) long. These high-yielding plants have an open habit, allowing for quick fruit set and ripening.
This variety has also been awarded the prestigious RHS Award of Garden Merit, recognizing its excellent performance and flavor.
Sow seeds singly in 7.5cm (3-inch) pots under glass in early April for an earlier start, transplanting outdoors in late May.
Alternatively, direct sow outdoors in late May or early June once the soil is warm (optimal temperature 25-35°C). Sow seeds 2cm (1 inch) deep, spacing plants 45-60cm (18-24 inches) apart in rows 90-120cm (36-48 inches) apart. Matures in approximately 100 days from transplant.
Ensure full sun exposure and provide adequate watering. Companion plants include corn, lettuce, and melons.
