Grow Award-Winning Bicolor Snapdragon DoubleShot Yellow Red Heart
Experience the beauty of Snapdragon DoubleShot Yellow Red Heart, a 2025 All-America Selections (AAS) winner. This robust, upright snapdragon produces tall (18-20 inches), heavily branched plants adorned with striking semi-double flowers.
Each bloom features ruffly yellow petals with a distinctive red heart, creating a romantic, open-faced display. An early bloomer, you’ll enjoy dense flower spikes from late fall through spring. These candy-scented, long-lasting, and wind-resistant blooms are not only beautiful as cut flowers but also irresistible to bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds, making it a wonderful addition to any pollinator-friendly garden.
Perfect for adding height to borders or creating masses of color in beds and containers, this snapdragon requires no staking and exhibits excellent frost and light freeze resistance, as well as good heat tolerance.
Easy to grow from seed, plant in a sunny to partially sunny location with moist, organically rich, and well-draining soil. If your soil is compacted, amend it with compost. For optimal growth, fertilize during the growing season and deadhead spent flowers frequently to encourage continuous blooming.
To get an early start, sow seeds indoors 6 to 8 weeks before your intended outdoor planting time. Need light to germinate, do not cover with soil or other planting medium, 68-75 Degrees Fahrenheit. Gradually acclimatize seedlings to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days and transplant them when the weather cools.
