Discover the Cheerful Soluna Lemon Sunflower Seeds

Bring a touch of sunshine to your garden with Soluna Lemon Sunflower seeds. This charming and cheerful branching variety boasts bright yellow petals contrasting beautifully with a dark, almost black central disc. As a recipient of the prestigious Fleuroselect award, Soluna Lemon is known for its abundant and continuous flowering, producing smaller, graceful blooms that are simply perfect for cutting and creating stunning bouquets.

Elegant Branching Habit and Perfect Cut Flowers

Soluna Lemon Sunflowers offer a unique architectural splendor, making them ideal for the back of the border. Unlike rigid, single-stemmed varieties, these sunflowers develop into beautiful yet sturdy, branching specimens, providing a fuller and more dynamic display. The smaller, elegant flowers are particularly well-suited for cut flower arrangements, bringing a touch of sunshine indoors.

Easy to Grow with Abundant Blooms

These sunflowers are known for their ease of cultivation, thriving in full sun. Their free-flowering nature ensures a continuous display of cheerful lemon-yellow blooms throughout the growing season, adding a vibrant touch to your garden.

Growing Instructions:

Direct Sowing:

  1. Sow directly where they are to flower.
  2. Sow seeds 15mm (approximately 1/2 inch) deep into finely prepared soil that has been raked to a fine tilth.
  3. Sow 2 seeds together every 45cm (approximately 18 inches).
  4. Seedlings typically appear in 14-21 days.
  5. Once seedlings are large enough to handle, thin out the weaker of the two plants. Replant the thinned seedling elsewhere if desired.
  6. Water well until plants are established.

Starting Indoors (for earlier blooms):

  1. Sow seeds 15mm (approximately 1/2 inch) deep into individual pots.
  2. Place pots in a cold frame or greenhouse and keep them moist.
  3. Once the danger of frost has passed, gradually acclimatize the young plants to outdoor conditions before planting them out.

Cultivation Tips for Success

  • Location: Choose a location that receives full sun. Ideally, plant near a fence or wall for some support.
  • Watering: Water deeply but infrequently, allowing the soil to dry slightly between waterings.
  • Feeding: Feed sparingly; sunflowers generally do not require heavy fertilization.
  • Support: Due to their branching habit and height (up to 4ft or 1.2m), Soluna Lemon Sunflowers may require staking or other support, especially in windy conditions.

Harvesting Seeds:

If you wish to harvest the seeds, protect the flower head with garden fleece to deter squirrels and birds. Alternatively, you can cut the head and dry it indoors. Seeds are typically ready for harvest approximately 30-45 days after the bloom has finished.

Add a cheerful and elegant touch to your garden with Soluna Lemon Sunflower seeds. Order yours today and enjoy an abundance of bright yellow blooms perfect for both garden display and beautiful bouquets!
