Strawberry Delizzimo F1 is a professional-grade F1 hybrid strawberry developed by ABZ Seeds in the Netherlands through a targeted breeding program designed to address one specific challenge: delivering genuinely flavorful strawberries during the winter season, when most commercially available berries compromise on taste due to growing conditions and long shipping distances.
ABZ Seeds developed Delizzimo as a persistent flavor variety for greenhouse cultivation, and in consumer testing at the Kruishoutem Proefcentrum in Belgium, Delizzimo emerged as the best-tasting strawberry, rated by the consumer panel as very tasty even in winter low-light conditions.

The variety is recognized in the professional growing industry as the strawberry that reminds consumers of a summer breeze — a flavor quality that sets it apart from standard greenhouse production varieties.
Delizzimo delivers deep red, sweet and very aromatic flat-conical fruits with a weight of 16–30 g per berry, a sugar content of Brix 9–12, and a yield of 1000–1250 grams per plant.

Seed Germination

• Important — Cold Stratification Recommended: Although Delizzimo F1 seeds are professionally produced and may germinate without cold stratification, cold stratification for 3–4 weeks at 2–5°C before sowing improves germination rates and uniformity.
• Place seeds in a sealed container in the refrigerator for 3–4 weeks before sowing.
• After stratification, bring seeds to room temperature before sowing on the surface of a moist, sterile seed-starting mix at 24°C.
• Seeds also require light to germinate — do not bury them.

Growing Tips

• After cold stratification, sow Delizzimo F1 seeds on the surface of a sterile, moist seed-starting mix.
• Press lightly into the surface without covering.
• Place in a warm, bright location at a minimum of 24°C. Seeds germinate in 4–7 days under optimal warm conditions.
• Keep soil consistently moist but not waterlogged throughout the germination and seedling stages.
• Once seedlings develop their first true leaves, transplant carefully into individual small pots.
• Grow on in warm, bright conditions.
• After 6–8 weeks, plants are ready for their final containers using rich, well-drained potting mix enriched with compost.
• Plant in fertile soil at pH 6.0–6.5. Keep the crown of each plant at or just above the soil surface — burying the crown causes crown rot.
• Water consistently using drip or base watering to keep foliage dry.
• Feed every two weeks with a specialized strawberry or fruiting fertilizer throughout the growing season.
• Delizzimo performs best with generous light — a minimum of 6–8 hours of direct sun daily outdoors, or supplemental grow lighting of 14–16 hours indoors.
• In Gulf conditions, the cool autumn-to-spring season provides ideal outdoor growing conditions.
• During summer heat, move containers to a shaded position or provide shade cloth protection to maintain plant health and resume production when temperatures moderate.
