Vinca Roseus Tattoo Tangerine
1,750 KWD
Vinca roseus Tattoo Tangerine is one of the most distinctive colors in groundbreaking Tattoo series — bright tangerine-orange star-shaped blooms with a luminous white eye at the center and dark purple brush strokes airbrushed across every petal. The white-eye pattern sets Tangerine apart from the deep-purple-eyed Orange in the same series, creating a lighter, more luminous tricolor effect across the flower face. Plants are well-branched and highly floriferous, reaching 25 to 35 cm in height with a compact upright mounded habit. Exceptional heat, drought, and humidity tolerance make it perfectly suited to Kuwait’s full outdoor growing season year-round.

Vinca Roseus Tattoo Tangerine Seeds
(Madagascar Periwinkle — Tattoo Series)
Vinca roseus Tattoo Tangerine is part of the Tattoo series from PanAmerican, widely recognized as the most distinctive vinca range ever developed. The art of plants comes alive on every Tattoo bloom — each petal appears inked or airbrushed with soft brush strokes of dark purple. Adding these novelties to your lineup shows that you have your finger on the pulse of what today’s gardener really wants: bold, fun, flashy appeal. Tattoo is without a doubt the most unique vinca on the market today.
Tattoo Tangerine features showy orange star-shaped flowers with white eyes and deep purple streaks at the ends of the stems. Well-branched and very floriferous plants present stunning tangerine-orange blooms with bright centers and petals brushed in dark purple. Heat and drought tolerant, great for garden beds and patio containers, and best color in warm, bright conditions.
The white eye is the defining visual signature that distinguishes Tattoo Tangerine from its closest sibling, Tattoo Orange, which carries deep purple eyes. Where Orange presents an all-dark bicolor of orange and purple, Tangerine introduces a third element — the bright white central eye — that creates a luminous, star-burst effect radiating outward from the flower center. The warm tangerine ground, the white eye, and the dark purple petal brushwork work together to produce a tricolor flower of exceptional visual depth, combining warmth, lightness, and drama in a single bloom.
The Tattoo series displays the best color contrast under warm conditions with higher light levels. When grown under cooler conditions and lower light, colors appear darker overall with less contrast and more purple area. Colors lighten and brighten with increases in temperature and light.
In Kuwait’s outdoor conditions — high light intensity and consistently warm temperatures for most of the year — Tattoo Tangerine expresses its full tricolor character to maximum effect, with the white eye radiant against the orange and purple.
The Tattoo series offers very floriferous and well-branched plants with one-of-a-kind flowers, a tight flowering window, and an easy-to-grow, uniform, upright habit across all colors. The series is outstanding in hot and sunny conditions.

Seed Germination

- Sow one seed per cell or small pot using a moist, well-drained seed-starting mix.
- Cover seeds with approximately 5 mm of soil and press lightly.
- Place the tray in a warm spot away from direct light during the germination period. Ideal temperature is 24 to 27 degrees
- Celsius. Germination typically occurs within 7 to 15 days.
- Keep the soil consistently moist but never waterlogged — check daily and water gently from below if possible, to avoid disturbing the seeds.
- Once seedlings emerge and the first true leaves appear, move them to a bright, sunny location.
Growing Tips
- Growing-on temperatures: 24 degrees Celsius day, 18 to 20 degrees Celsius night.
- Target media pH 5.5 to 6.0.
- Starting one week after transplant, apply fertilizer at of nitrogen 3–5 ml per liter of water once a week using predominantly a nitrate-form fertilizer with low phosphorus and high potassium.
- Keep light as high as possible while maintaining optimal production temperatures.
- Maintain even moisture and avoid excessive foliage wetness, as these conditions favor disease incidence.
- Space plants 15 cm apart in garden beds.
- Water deeply once or twice a week once established — Vinca is highly susceptible to root rot under waterlogged conditions, so excellent drainage is essential at all times.
- Avoid overhead watering that wets the foliage in warm conditions.
- Trim plants back lightly by one-third periodically to encourage fresh branching and renewed flowering.
- Fertilize regularly with a balanced fertilizer throughout the growing season to support continuous bloom production.
Gulf Planting Season:
- Sow indoors in warm protected nursery conditions: year-round, with optimal results from August through October and February through April.
- Transplant to garden beds or containers: September through November and March through May.
- Expected flowering: continuous year-round under Kuwait’s warm outdoor conditions.
- Tattoo Tangerine is a true warm-season annual that thrives in Kuwait’s outdoor climate. It performs best when temperatures remain above 20 degrees Celsius. Growth slows slightly during the coolest December and January nights but resumes actively as temperatures rise. No summer dormancy — continuous color through Kuwait’s hottest months.
Garden and Floral Uses
- Vinca roseus Tattoo Tangerine is suited for ornamental garden beds, mixed containers, patio pots, landscape mass plantings, and window boxes.
- The tricolor combination of tangerine, white, and dark purple creates a luminous and sophisticated flower effect that works both as a bold standalone mass planting and as a bright warm-toned accent in mixed container designs.
- In the Gulf garden it combines naturally with deep red, gold, and bronze companions for a warm sunset palette, or pairs with white and cream companions to highlight its bright white eye.
- Vinca thrives in full sun, requiring 6 to 8 hours of direct sunlight daily for optimal growth and vibrant blooms.
- It can tolerate partial shade, but less light may lead to leggier stems and fewer flowers.
- The compact mounded habit, continuous year-round flowering, and exceptional heat tolerance make Tattoo Tangerine one of the most dependable ornamental annuals in the Kuwait garden across all seasons.
