Growing in Kuwait

  • Transplant outdoors from October through December for the best fruit set.
  • Provide at least 6–8 hours of direct sunlight.
  • Grow in fertile, well-draining soil enriched with mature compost.
  • Use a container of at least 40–50 litres if not planting in the ground.
  • Install a strong cage or trellis at transplanting.
  • Maintain consistent soil moisture to reduce cracking and blossom-end rot.
  • Train to two or three main stems if improved airflow and easier management are desired.
  • Avoid excessive nitrogen, which promotes leaves instead of fruit.
  • Retain enough foliage to protect the dark fruits from sunscald.
  • Harvest when the fruit softens slightly and develops its characteristic dusky rose-purple color; green shoulders can remain even when fully ripe.
