Dahlia Pink Petticoat: Elegant White and Pink Ombré Tuber

Create an elegant showpiece in your garden with the Dahlia Pink Petticoat tuber. This variety produces rounded, fully-double blooms, 15–17 cm across, with uniquely ruffled petals that curve toward the stem, creating a beautiful “petticoat” underskirt effect. The color shifts from snow-white at the base to a rich pink at the tips, with some flowers featuring tiny raspberry speckles for added detail. This bushy, well-branched plant grows to an impressive height of 120–150 cm and a spread of 60–70 cm, making it a perfect mid-border showpiece.

Dahlia Pink Petticoat is also a wonderful cut flower, with stems lasting 5–7 days in a vase if cut at the half-open stage. Its beautiful ombré tones are ideal for elegant winter bouquets or for adding a touch of romance to pastel mixed beds. With consistent dead-heading and maintenance, you can expect to enjoy over 70 of these magnificent blooms per plant throughout its long flowering season from late November through March.

  • Water: Once shoots appear, deep-soak every 3–4 days; let the top 3 cm of soil dry between irrigations.
  • Feed (Fertilizing): Monthly low-nitrogen organic bloom fertiliser (~3-6-4) until February, then stop.
  • Maintenance: Pinch at 35 cm for extra branches; dead-head or harvest promptly to expect 70+ ombré blooms.
