Dahlia ‘Strawberry Cream’ – Strawberry Pink & Cream Decorative Dahlia Tuber

Dahlia ‘Strawberry Cream’ is a charming Decorative Dahlia prized for its beautifully patterned, fully double blooms and romantic strawberry-and-cream coloring.
The flowers feature a creamy-white to soft blush-pink base marked with irregular strawberry-pink and deeper pink streaks and flushes. The markings naturally vary from bloom to bloom and become more intense as the flowers mature, creating a beautiful hand-painted appearance. The RHS specifically notes that the darker pink streaks intensify with age.

Blooms typically measure approximately 9–10 cm across, while mature plants grow around 90–100 cm tall. Fred de Meulder lists the cultivar as a small-flowered Decorative Dahlia with 90 mm blooms and 90 cm height.

Its elegant form, variable coloring and excellent cutting qualities make Strawberry Cream a beautiful choice for wedding flowers, romantic bouquets and cutting gardens.

Growing in Kuwait

  • For Kuwait conditions, Dahlia ‘Strawberry Cream’ is best grown during the cooler growing season once extreme summer temperatures have declined.
  • A practical planting period is: October to November
  • Plant tubers approximately 10–15 cm deep, positioning the crown and growing eyes upward.
  • Avoid excessive watering immediately after planting. Once shoots emerge and active roots develop, gradually increase watering while maintaining excellent drainage.
  • Provide good sunlight during the cooler months, with some protection from intense afternoon heat as temperatures rise toward the end of the season.
  • Because plants reach approximately 90–100 cm tall, light staking or plant support is recommended.
