Organic Siberian Kale
Discover the resilience and rapid growth of Siberian Kale Organic (*Brassica napus*), an open-pollinated variety hailing from Russia. This organic kale produces huge, blue-green leaves with a subtle, slightly curled texture and a mildly sweet flavor.
The non-heading plants spread generously, reaching 30-40 cm (12-16 inches), promising a bountiful harvest throughout the season. For those eager for an early taste, baby leaves can be harvested in as little as 25 days.
For direct sowing, plant seeds ½ inch (1.3 cm) deep in the garden after the intense heat of the season has passed. Space plants 24 inches (60 cm) apart with 24 inches (60 cm) between rows to allow for their spread. For an earlier start, sow indoors 6-8 weeks before the typical start of the growing season.
Siberian kale thrives in cooler temperatures. Enjoy its versatility by adding baby or mature leaves to green salads or lightly sautéing them with olive oil and garlic.
