Lisianthus Grandiflorum Mariachi II Mysty Pink

1,950 KWD

Lisianthus grandiflorum Mariachi II Mysty Pink is an extraordinary F1 lisianthus from the celebrated Mariachi series — producing the most opulent flower form available in lisianthus: a quadruple (4-layer) flower structure that resembles a full camellia bloom rather than a conventional rose-like lisianthus. In soft, delicate misty pink, on long stems reaching up to 100 cm, with thick petals for outstanding shelf life and transport durability. As a Group 2 variety, Mariachi flowers earlier in the season than Group 3 varieties, making it ideal for early production programs and succession planting in the Gulf cool season.

Lisianthus Grandiflorum Mariachi II Mysty Pink Seeds

(F1 Lisianthus — Group 2 Quadruple Camellia-flower Misty Pink)

Mariachi features extra-double, large flowers that resemble camellias. This high-quality quadruple flower has a perfect form for mixed or mono bouquets. Mariachi is suitable for early spring to summer harvest, with excellent rose-shaped flower heads, thick petals for long-lasting shelf life and easy transportation, large flower size of 5–7 cm in diameter, and long stems up to 100 cm in height. It is ideal for winter sowing.

The term “quadruple flower” (Quadruple / vierfach in professional lisianthus nomenclature) distinguishes Mariachi from standard double or extra-double varieties. Where a standard double lisianthus has two layers of petals and an extra-double has three, Mariachi’s quadruple structure delivers four complete layers — creating a dramatically full, spherical, camellia-like bloom of extraordinary density and visual impact. This is the most opulent flower form achievable in lisianthus.

The Mysty Pink color of this variety is a soft, cool, slightly desaturated pink — the “misty” quality suggests a haze or veil over the color rather than a clear saturated pink. This subtle, ethereal quality gives the blooms a romantic, dreamlike character particularly suited to bridal and luxury floral design, where softer, less assertive tones are often preferred over bold saturated colors.

At up to 100 cm in stem length, Mariachi II Mysty Pink produces some of the tallest lisianthus stems commercially available — giving florists exceptional flexibility in large-format arrangements, tall centerpieces, and installations where stem length is critical.
As a Group 2 variety, Mariachi II Mysty Pink flowers earlier in the season than the Group 3 varieties (Arena, Corelli Sugoi, Croma). When sown at the same time, Group 2 varieties like Mariachi will flower approximately two weeks before Group 3 varieties. This makes Mariachi an ideal companion for succession-planting programs alongside Group 3 varieties — the same sowing date produces staggered harvests, extending the production window without additional sowing cycles.

Plant Information

  • Height: 75–100 cm
  • Habit: Upright, well-branched
  • Flower form: Quadruple (4-layer), camellia-like, extra-dense
  • Sun: Full sun
  • Soil: Well-drained, high in organic matter, pH 6.5–6.8
  • Water: Consistent moisture — do not allow to dry out; avoid waterlogging
  • Spacing: 10–15 cm for cut flower production

Seed Germination — Read Carefully

  • Seed form: Fine pelleted seeds — handle carefully; do not crush pellet
  • Seed depth: Surface sow or very light vermiculite dusting — light required for germination
  • Germination time: 10–20 days at 20–22°C
  • Germination temperature: 20–22°C — do not exceed 25°C
  • Pre-cooling option: After sowing and wetting pellets, cover trays at 100% humidity and place in cold storage at 4–8°C for 4
  • weeks without light, then move to greenhouse to initiate germination. Pre-cooling helps avoid rosetting.
  • Sow pelleted seeds into deep 288-cell trays in fine, sterile, well-draining seed-starting mix at pH 6.5–6.8.
  • Press pellets lightly onto the surface or cover with a very fine dusting of vermiculite.
  • Water gently until pellet material has fully broken down.
  • Maintain 100% humidity.
  • Keep consistently moist at all times — pellets must not dry out.
  • Germination takes 10–20 days.

Growing Tips

  • The growing requirements for Mariachi II Mysty Pink are consistent with all professional lisianthus varieties.
  • Maintain consistent temperatures of 20–22°C throughout germination and early seedling development. Do not exceed 25°C — high temperatures trigger rosetting.
  • Inconsistent moisture and low light are secondary risk factors.
  • Transplant to final growing positions 12–13 weeks after sowing, spacing 10–15 cm apart in well-drained, organic-rich medium at pH 6.5–6.8.
  • Apply a biological fungicide at planting.
  • Transplant plugs at the correct stage: 4 true leaves (2 nodes).
  • Under short-day conditions, extend day length to 16 hours with supplemental lighting to prevent bud blasting. Maintain night temperatures above 13°C when using supplemental lighting. High light intensity is as important as long days for proper flower development.
  • For cut flower harvest, cut stems when one or more flowers on the stem are open and fully colored.
  • Condition in clean water with floral preservative at 5–8°C. The quadruple flower form of Mariachi continues to develop and reveal its full camellia-like structure after cutting, reaching maximum visual impact on days 2–4 in the vase.
  • In Gulf conditions, August sowing with January–February transplanting produces flowers from March through April. As a Group 2 variety, Mariachi will begin flowering approximately two weeks before Group 3 varieties sown at the same time.

Mariachi vs Arena vs Corelli Sugoi vs Croma — Series Comparison

  • All four are premium F1 lisianthus for professional cut flower production, but differ fundamentally in flower form, group, and stem length. Arena III: large smooth double, Group 3, 79–99 cm.
  • Corelli Sugoi III: extra-large heavily fringed double, Group 3, 79–99 cm. Croma III: mid-sized extra-double with thick petals, Group 3, 65–90 cm.
  • Mariachi II: quadruple (4-layer) camellia-like, Group 2 (earlier), up to 100 cm — the most opulent form and the tallest stems.
  • For succession programs, Mariachi II planted alongside any Group 3 variety will begin flowering two weeks earlier from the same sowing date, extending the production window naturally.

Gulf Planting Season

  • Best sowing time in the Gulf: August (indoors, protected environment)
  • Transplanting: 12–13 weeks after sowing — January–February
  • Expected flowering: March–April (approximately 2 weeks earlier than Group 3 varieties sown at the same time)
  • Note: Protected cultivation essential. Group 2 flowering advantage makes Mariachi ideal for succession programs alongside Arena, Corelli Sugoi, or Croma.

Cut Flower Harvesting Guide

  • Harvest stage: When one or more flowers on the stem are open and fully colored
  • Conditioning: Re-cut stems; place in clean water with floral preservative at 5–8°C for 2–4 hours
  • Vase life: 14–21 days — quadruple petals support outstanding longevity
  • Note: The camellia-like quadruple structure continues to develop and open in the vase, reaching maximum visual impact on days 2–4
