Dahlia ‘Caribbean Fantasy’ – Tropical Variegated Decorative Dahlia Tuber

Dahlia ‘Caribbean Fantasy’ is a vibrant Decorative Dahlia producing large, fully double blooms in a spectacular tropical blend of creamy white, soft yellow, peach and coral, irregularly streaked and flecked with pink to red.
The color pattern varies naturally from flower to flower, meaning no two blooms are exactly alike. Some flowers appear predominantly cream and coral, while others develop much stronger red streaking, creating a playful hand-painted effect. Peter Nyssen specifically highlights this natural variability.
Flowers typically reach approximately 15–20 cm across, while mature plants grow around 100–110 cm tall. Its bold coloring, large flowers and excellent cutting qualities make Caribbean Fantasy an outstanding choice for cutting gardens, colorful bouquets and statement floral arrangements.

Growing in Kuwait

  • For Kuwait conditions, Dahlia ‘Caribbean Fantasy’ is best grown during the cooler growing season once extreme summer temperatures have declined.
  • A practical planting period is: October to November
  • Plant tubers approximately 10–15 cm deep, positioning the crown and growing eyes upward.
  • Avoid excessive watering immediately after planting. Once shoots emerge and active roots develop, gradually increase watering while maintaining excellent drainage.
  • Provide good sunlight during the cooler months, with some protection from intense afternoon heat as temperatures rise toward the end of the season.
  • Because plants grow to around 100–110 cm tall, staking or plant support is recommended.
