  • Double Garth’s Special Mix is an unusual petunia mixture producing large, richly ruffled double flowers with an elegant, carnation-like appearance.
  • The mixture can produce a range of bold colors, bricoleurs and contrasting patterns, making every plant a unique addition to the garden.
  • The compact plants are especially attractive in individual pots and mixed containers where their elaborate flowers can be viewed closely. Mature blooms may reach approximately 10–12 cm across under suitable conditions, while plants remain around 20 cm tall.
    Important Color and Flower Note
This product is grown from a mixed seed selection:
  • – Each seedling will produce its own flower color or pattern.
  • – One plant should not be expected to produce every color shown in images of the mix.
  • – When sold before flowering, the final color cannot be guaranteed.
  • – The amount of doubling, ruffling and color distribution may vary naturally between seed-grown plants.
  • This variation is part of the character of the mixture rather than a defect.

Growing in Kuwait

  • – Transplant outdoors from October through February.
  • – Provide at least 5–6 hours of direct sunlight for compact growth and abundant flowering.
  • – During warmer periods, morning sun with light afternoon shade is preferable.
  • – Use fertile, lightweight and well-drained soil.
  • – Water when the upper layer of soil begins to dry.
  • – Avoid waterlogged soil and containers without drainage holes.
  • – Apply a diluted flowering-plant fertiliser every 10–14 days.
  • – Remove faded flowers and their developing seed capsules regularly.
  • – Lightly trim stretched stems to encourage fresh branching and new blooms.
    Protecting the Flowers
  • The large double blooms can hold water between their petals. Water directly onto the soil and avoid repeatedly wetting the flowers, particularly during humid weather. Position containers where the blooms receive good air circulation and some protection from heavy rain.
    Container Growing
  • – Plant one seedling in a pot approximately 15–20 cm wide.
  • – Use three or more plants in larger mixed containers, allowing room for each plant to develop.
  • – Position near the front of a display because this is a compact, mounding petunia rather than a strongly trailing variety.
  • – Remove damaged flowers promptly to keep the plant clean and encourage further flowering.
