Statice Mix – Apricot & Lavender – Seedling

  • Botanical name: Limonium sinuatum
  • Common names: Statice, Annual Statice, Wavyleaf Sea Lavender
  • Plant type: Annual flowering plant
  • Flower colors: Apricot and lavender
  • Mature height: Approximately 60–90 cm
  • Mature spread: Approximately 25–30 cm
  • Light: Full sun
  • Best planting season in Kuwait: October to January
  • Suitable for: Garden beds, large containers, fresh bouquets and dried-flower arrangements
  • Statice Mix combines two elegant colors: warm apricot and soft lavender. The plants produce airy clusters of small, papery flowers on long, sturdy stems, adding color and texture to sunny gardens and floral arrangements.
  • Statice is especially valued as a cut flower because the colorful papery calyces retain their shape and color exceptionally well after drying. Professional cut-flower selections of Limonium sinuatum generally mature between 60 and 90 cm tall and are suitable for fresh and preserved bouquets.

Growing in Kuwait

  • – Transplant outdoors during the cooler season, ideally from October to January.
  • – Select a location receiving at least 6 hours of direct sunlight.
  • – Plant in light, well-drained soil; statice does not tolerate persistently wet roots.
  • – Water regularly while the plant becomes established, then allow the upper soil layer to dry slightly between waterings.
  • – Space plants approximately 25–30 cm apart.
  • – Avoid excessive nitrogen fertilizer, which may produce soft foliage at the expense of strong flowering stems.
  • – Taller plants may need light support in exposed or windy locations.
  • – It can tolerate some dryness once established, but regular irrigation is still necessary under Kuwait conditions.
    Harvesting and Drying
  • Harvest stems when most of the cultured papery calyces have opened and the small white flowers are beginning to appear. Cut during dry weather to reduce the risk of browning during storage.
  • For dried arrangements, remove the lower leaves, gather the stems into small bunches and hang them upside down in a dark, dry and well-ventilated place. Statice is considered one of the most dependable flowers for drying because it retains its color well.
    Important Color Note
This product contains seedlings grown from a two-color mix. Each individual seedling will produce either apricot or lavender flowers—it will not produce both colors on the same plant. If seedlings are sold before flowering, the final colour should be described as randomly selected and cannot be guaranteed.
