  • Growth habit: Compact determinate
  • Plant height: Approximately 38–46 cm
  • Plant spread: Approximately 45–50 cm
  • Fruit size: Approximately 2.5 cm; around 14 g each
  • Fruit color: Golden yellow
  • Maturity: Approximately 45 days after transplanting
  • Light: Full sun
  • Best planting season in Kuwait: September to January
  • 2017 All-America Selections Winner
  • Patio Choice Yellow F1 is an award-winning compact tomato developed specifically for containers, balconies and small gardens.
  • Despite reaching only about 38–46 cm tall, the bushy plant can produce more than 100 attractive golden-yellow cherry tomatoes under suitable growing conditions.
  • The round fruits have a mild, sweet flavor balanced by a light touch of acidity. They are ideal for fresh snacking, salads, roasting and drying. This is an excellent choice for gardeners who want productive tomato plants without the space required by large vining varieties.
  • Patio Choice Yellow F1 was named a 2017 All-America Selections National Winner.

Growing in Kuwait

  • – Transplant outdoors from September through January for the best seasonal conditions.
  • – Provide at least 6–8 hours of direct sunlight.
  • – During warm early-season weather, protect the plant from harsh afternoon sun until it becomes established.
  • – Grow one plant in a container of at least 15–20 liters, with excellent drainage.
  • – Keep the soil evenly moist, particularly during flowering and fruit development.
  • – Avoid irregular watering, which can increase fruit cracking and blossom-end rot.
  • – Feed regularly with a balanced tomato fertilizer once the plant becomes established.
  • – Although officially described as not requiring staking, a short cage or stake is advisable because heavy fruit production can weigh down the branches.
  • – Space plants approximately 35–45 cm apart when planted in garden beds.
    Disease Resistance
The variety is reported by All-America Selections as resistant or tolerant to:
  • – Fusarium wilt
  • – Verticillium wilt
  • – Tobacco mosaic virus
  • These resistances reduce risk but do not make the plant immune to all tomato diseases or unsuitable growing conditions.
  • Harvesting
  • Harvest when the fruits develop a uniform golden-yellow color and release easily from the stem. Frequent picking encourages the plant to direct its energy toward the remaining fruit.
  • Because it is a determinate tomato, most of its harvest is produced over a relatively concentrated period rather than continuously on an endlessly growing vine.
