Growing Information

Moderately fast-growing, these Scabiosa produce a profusion of double pincushion flowers on tall, strong stems, typically reaching around two inches in diameter. Blooming from the heart of summer into the early days of autumn, they bring a touch of class to your borders and provide an abundant supply of excellent cut flowers for your home.

Sowing Instructions

For optimal results, sow seeds immediately onto a good soil-based compost, covering them with fine grit or compost to approximately their own depth. Sowing can be done at any time, with germination potentially accelerated at temperatures between 15 and 20 degrees Celsius. Many gardeners opt for natural germination in an unheated greenhouse to respect the seeds’ natural dormancy mechanisms, allowing for a full season of robust growth.
