Specific Sowing Instructions for Optimal Growth

To successfully grow Anemone ‘Gemstone Blue’ from seeds indoors, it’s important to follow a specific process. Begin by sowing your seeds shallowly. For cool germination, maintain the sown seeds at a cool temperature of 15-20°C with bright, indirect light and consistently moist soil for an initial period of 2-4 weeks. Following this, a crucial step is cold stratification. Transfer the seed container to your refrigerator at 2-5°C for another 2-4 weeks, ensuring the soil remains consistently moist. After the cold period, return the seed container to the warmer (15-20°C), bright, indirect light conditions. Seedlings should begin to emerge, although this can take some time. Transplanting outdoors is recommended later in the year to allow the plants to establish during cooler conditions.
