Dahlia ‘Bumble Rumble’ – Raspberry & White Collarette Dahlia plant
Dahlia ‘Bumble Rumble’ is a distinctive Collarette Dahlia prized for its unusual, layered flower form and vibrant pollinator-friendly blooms.
Each flower features broad soft-pink outer petals overlaid with rich raspberry coloring, surrounding a prominent collar of pure white inner petals and an open golden-yellow central disc.
The RHS officially classifies Bumble Rumble within the Collarette Group, while specialist grower Swan Island Dahlias highlights its unusually large white collar and vivid raspberry coloring.
Blooms typically measure approximately 8–11 cm across, while plants generally grow around 80–100 cm tall, occasionally reaching approximately 120 cm in strong growing conditions.
Its open center provides easy access to pollen, making Bumble Rumble particularly valuable for bees, butterflies and other pollinators while also producing attractive flowers for cutting.

Growing in Kuwait
- For Kuwait conditions, Dahlia ‘Bumble Rumble’ is best grown during the cooler growing season, once extreme summer temperatures have declined.
- A practical outdoor growing period is from October onward, depending on actual temperatures.
- Place the plant in a location with good sunlight during the cooler months. As temperatures begin to rise toward the end of the season, some protection from intense afternoon sun can help reduce heat stress.
- Grow in fertile, well-drained soil and water regularly, allowing the upper layer of soil to begin drying slightly between waterings. Avoid keeping the root zone constantly saturated.
- Transplanting from pot, move the plant carefully without disturbing the root ball excessively, and water thoroughly after transplanting.
- Because plants typically reach around 90–100 cm tall, light staking is recommended to support the stems and protect them from wind or the weight of the flowers.
- Regular removal of faded blooms will encourage continued flowering throughout the growing season.
